Rapid-set urethane concrete repair materials with 15, 30, and 45-minute drive-over times for spall repair, crack filling, and joint rebuilding.
Urethane concrete repair materials are two-component, 100% solids systems built for filling, leveling, and permanently repairing damaged concrete surfaces. Unlike cementitious patch products that shrink as they cure and often fail under traffic, urethane repair materials cure through a chemical reaction that produces a dense, non-shrinking repair with excellent adhesion to concrete. They are the professional standard for concrete repair products used in warehouses, manufacturing plants, food-processing facilities, and other demanding environments.
HTS Chemical manufactures three urethane concrete repair mortar products — TX-1, TX-2, and TX-3. Each is a two-component, 100% solids system with a simple 1:1 mix ratio. They are self-leveling, self-priming on clean concrete, and can be mixed with dry aggregate such as sand or pea gravel for deep fills. All three cure reliably in temperatures from -20°F to 130°F.
TX-1 is drive-over ready in 10-15 minutes, TX-2 in 30 minutes, and TX-3 in 45 minutes. Working time before the material begins to gel is approximately 2 minutes for TX-1, 3 minutes for TX-2, and 5 minutes for TX-3. All three meet USDA and FDA requirements for use in food-processing and food-storage facilities.
The primary difference between TX-1, TX-2, and TX-3 is the balance between working time and return-to-service speed. TX-1 is the go-to product when downtime must be minimized — loading docks, active warehouse aisles, and production floors that cannot be shut down. Its rapid gel time means working in small batches, but the payoff is a drive-over-ready repair in 10-15 minutes.
TX-2 provides more working time (approximately 3 minutes of pot life) with a 30-minute drive-over, making it the most versatile option for general spall repair, crack filling, and surface restoration. TX-3 offers the longest working time (approximately 5 minutes) and a 45-minute drive-over, making it the best choice for larger pours and detailed leveling work. TX-3 is also the LEED-qualifying option for green-building projects.
Concrete spalling repair is one of the most common uses for HTS repair materials. Spalling occurs when the surface flakes, chips, or breaks away due to freeze-thaw cycles, deicing salts, impact damage, and rebar corrosion. Left unaddressed, spalling concrete becomes a safety hazard and accelerates further deterioration. HTS urethane repair products fix concrete spalling quickly and permanently, restoring the surface to a smooth, durable condition that resists further damage. Because the repair material bonds chemically to the concrete and does not shrink, the repair will not pop out or crumble under traffic.
Warehouses and distribution centers use HTS repair materials for rapid joint and spall repairs that minimize disruption to forklift operations. Manufacturing plants rely on the chemical resistance and durability of urethane repairs in heavy-use production areas. Food and beverage processors use USDA/FDA-compliant HTS materials to repair floors without contaminating products or shutting down production lines. Concrete polishing contractors use HTS products as a pre-polish repair step to fill cracks, spalls, and voids before grinding and densification, as detailed in Technical Bulletin TB-2.
