Specialty Repair Materials

Specialty concrete repair products including flexible easy-shave, non-sag gel for vertical cracks, and UV-stable aliphatic formulations.

Specialty Repair Materials

Specialty concrete repair materials are formulated to handle repair challenges that standard self-leveling products cannot. While conventional repair mortars excel at filling flat surfaces, many real-world projects involve vertical crack repair, UV-exposed surfaces, or substrates that experience movement and thermal cycling. HTS Chemical manufactures three specialty products: TX-PMF, TX-GEL, and TX-UV. Each is engineered to solve a specific problem that would cause a standard repair material to fail.

TX-PMF is a modified polymer repair material with built-in flexibility. Its 45-minute working time and easy-shave formula make it well suited for flexible concrete repair in slabs with active movement, temperature-induced expansion and contraction, or locations where a rigid repair would crack under stress.

TX-GEL is a non-sag concrete repair material that gels immediately on application, allowing it to fill vertical cracks, overhead repairs, and angled surfaces without running or slumping.

TX-UV is a fully aliphatic, UV-stable repair material that will not amber or discolor when exposed to sunlight, making it the only product in the HTS line specifically made for exterior concrete crack repair and terrazzo restoration where color stability is critical.

TX-1, TX-2, and TX-3 are the right choice for the majority of concrete repair work - horizontal spalls, cracks, and joint rebuilds where a rigid, self-leveling fill is ideal. The specialty products solve specific problems that standard materials cannot. TX-PMF's flexibility and easy-shave formula make it the preferred choice for crack repairs that will be shaved flush, particularly on parking decks where slight slab movement would crack a rigid repair. TX-GEL is the only HTS repair product that can be applied vertically or overhead - standard self-leveling materials cannot be used in these orientations. TX-UV solves the ambering problem inherent in all aromatic urethane and epoxy repair materials; any repair exposed to sunlight or intense lighting will eventually yellow unless an aliphatic product like TX-UV is used. All three specialty products share the same 1:1 mix ratio and self-priming properties as the standard TX line. TX-PMF and TX-GEL are 100% solids with zero VOCs. TX-UV is a high-solids system (approximately 95% solids).

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. TX-UV can be applied as a thin cap over a standard repair to provide UV protection on the exposed surface. This is a cost-effective approach for deep fills where only the top layer is exposed to sunlight.
Yes. TX-GEL works on any orientation, but its gelling property is most valuable for vertical crack repair and overhead applications where gravity would cause standard products to run. On flat surfaces, a standard self-leveling product is typically faster and easier to apply.
TX-PMF offers slight flexibility (10-12% elongation) designed primarily for ease of shaving and minor crack accommodation. It is not intended for high-movement expansion joints. For those applications, a polyurea joint sealant like PE-45 is the better choice.
No. All HTS specialty repair products require the same preparation as standard products: clean, sound concrete free of contaminants, coatings, and loose material. No separate primer is required.
